Budget N-S rail tour
| Among
the most beautiful routes in the world the Reunification Express
winds its way the length of the country from the capital, Hanoi
over 1250 miles to Ho Chi Minh City. Originally built by the
French at the beginning of the nineteen hundreds little has
changed since those days. It survived the constant American
bombardment during the war and since then the yearly floods
and typhoons. Although not always as basic as the third class
comfort, it certainly makes up in local colour and a certain
unique charm reminiscent of train journeys of a bygone era. |

Day 1:
Depart London Heathrow
Day 2: Hanoi. Morning arrival and rest of day free.
Day 3: Hanoi. City tour visiting the old parts of the city
with its faded French colonial ambience. Evening Vietnamese water-puppetry
display.
Day 4: Hanoi - Hue. All day free before boarding the overnight
train to Hue.
Day 5: Hue. Morning arrival. Afternoon tour of Royal Mausoleums
and Pagodas.
Day 6: Hue. Morning trip on the Perfume River. Afternoon
free to explore.
Day 7: Hue - Danang - Hoi An. Drive to Danang across the
Hai Van Pass visiting Cham Museum and
Marble Mountain, China Beach en route then proceed to Hoi An.
Day 8: Hoi An. All day free to explore the town.
Day 9: Hoi An - Nhatrang. Morning free before boarding day
train to Nhatrang.
Day 10: Nhatrang. All day boat tour to some of the islands
located off the coast. A fresh sea food lunch is served on board.
Day 11: Nhatrang - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). All day free
to relax on the beach. Evening night train to HCM City.
Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive 5am. Rest of the day free
to explore the city.
Day 13: Ho Chi Minh City. Join a group tour to Cu Chi Tunnels.
After lunch we travel to Tay Ninh and the Cao Dai temple. Return
to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 14: Ho Chi Minh City. City tour visiting the former Presidential
Palace, Thien Hau pagoda and History Museum. Evening flight to Bangkok
then London.
Day 15: Arrive London Heathrow
