Cruising the Mekong of Northern Laos
A unique and
exciting way of discovering the delights of Northern Laos in style,
safety and comfort. Featuring a new river cruise boat and a beautiful
Laotian style lodge on the banks of the Mekong, this cruise offers
the perfect link between tours in Northern Thailand and Laos.
The enchantment
starts when crossing to Laos from Chiang Khong (90 mins drive from
Chiang Rai) to board LuangSay boat for an extraordinary cruise on
the Mekong River. Traditional life on the banks of the river is
discovered comfortably and safely seated under the fixed canopy.
The night is spent in the comfortable cottages of our LuangSay Lodge.
On the second day the cruise continues to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO
World Heritage Site, with a stop to visit the Tham Ting caves en
route. Alternatively the cruise can be taken in reverse, boarding
in Luang Prabang and disembarking in HoueiSay.
THE BOATS
The LuangSay
boats are the perfect slow boats for leisurely river travel. With
34-meter steel hulls each, they feature:
