Express from Bangkok

From Bangkok take
the world famous Eastern and Oriental Express and enjoy luxury
all the way to Kuala Lumpur or Singapore or alternatively
north to Chiang Mai.
Making two return
trips fortnightly between Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok,
the route through mountains, tropical rain forests and along
beautiful coastlines, shows passengers a magnificent array
of scenery.

Length of Journeys
• Singapore to Bangkok is 1,200 miles (1,943 kms.) and takes
52 hours with two nights and two full days on board.
• Bangkok to Chiang Mai is 433 miles (696 kms.) and takes 21
hours with one night and one full day on board.
The Train
The air-conditioned carriages have been lavishly refurbished in
the 1930's colonial style. There
are 13 sleeping cars, two restaurant cars, one bar car, one observation/bar
car and a saloon car.
Sleeping Accommodation
Stewards attend each cabin around the clock. There are three grades
of compartment, all with private showers and toilet facilities:
Superior (day seat converting to upper and lower bunks); State Compartments
(more spacious, with daytime seating that converts to twin lower
beds and Presidential Suites (very spacious with twin lower bed,
armchairs, tables, free bar, extra wardrobe space and
dressing room with vanity console.
