Ba Na National Park
The Old French Hill Station
of Ba Na is now a National Park and covers an area of over 24,000
hectares of mostly mountainous forest. Supported by the WWF it is
particularly important for its population of rare pheasants and
endangered mammals. The old road winds its way up into the mountains
through the clouds to the summit were the French built their colonial
villas. The villas are now in ruin but a couple have been refurbished
to offer basic accommodation for people visiting the park.
This park can be easily included in any trip from Hue to Danang/Hoi
An or vice-versa or indeed if staying at any of the resorts in central
Vietnam as it is within an easy drive of Danang City (approximately
15 miles (25km) south west of Danang).
