Mekong River Dolphins

The Mekong
River is home to a rare and endangered species of river dolphin.
Travellers on the Mekong, may witness these graceful mammals.
There is no guarantee of encountering them but the best time
is from December to April, when sightings are common.
Day
1: Phnom Penh - Kratie Regular boat from Phnom Penh to
Kratie. Brief tour of the small colonial-style town. Continue
by car to reach the site of the river dolphins. Observe the
dolphins until sunset and return to Kratie for dinner and
accommodation.

Day 2:
Kratie - Chhiong - Kompong Chain Visit the pagoda of Vihear Kork
and the Wat Phom Sambok. Return to Kratie for lunch and travel by
small speedboat to Kompong Cham. Stop en-route at Chhiong, a small
village with both Khmer and colonial architecture. Dinner and overnight
at Kompong Cham.
Day 3: Kompong Cham/Chup/Phnom Penh Cross the Mekong River
by ferryboat and drive to Chup, a rubber plantation. Return to Kompong
Cham and visit the Wat Nokhor with its ancient temple and modern
style pagoda. Drive to Phnom Penh.
