Although an island, Phuket is connected to the mainland by a causeway and so exploring couldn't be easier. Find a secluded beach or drive to Khao Sok National Park for a night in a treetop guesthouse and a walk through the dense rainforest. Hua Hin lies on the other side of the country, only a few hours drive away, and the amazing sea-scapes and beaches of Krabi are a short drive away.

In the North, you can explore some of the more remote hilltribe areas, or drive through the Golden Triangle.
