Phuket - Pearl of
the South
The island of
Phuket is just an hours flight from Bangkok and is one of Thailand's
most popular resorts. Sandy beaches and lush tropical hills make

Koh Samui
The small
island of Ko Samui is just over an hour's flight from Bangkok.
Surrounded by white tropical beaches and covered in palm trees
it makes and idyllic tropical hideaway. You can spend your
days exploring the island or snorkelling along one of the
coral reefs that can be found off the island. You can also
experience a range of water sports and even complete a dive
course in the clear, fish-filled waters that surround its
miles of beaches. Ko Samui is famous for its giant Buddha
statue which towers over the island and is a 'must-see' for
any visitors to the island.
The 50
km of road that runs around the circumference of the island
makes it easy to explore the picturesque waterfalls, local
temples and numerous beaches by hiring a car or motorbike.
The Ang Thong Marine Park lies of the south western coast
and excursions can be arranged to visit it or any of the smaller
near by islands. This island is a perfect place to relax after

Krabi
and Koh Phi Phi
| For
those looking of a quieter beach location the small islands
and coves of Krabi province offer some idyllic coastline. Krabi
is in the southern province of Thailand on the western seaboard
adjoining the Andaman sea. The coastline covers more than 130
islands in the Andaman Sea. Natural forest cover the mountainous
parts of the province while agriculture includes rubber, palm,
mango, coconut, and coffee plantations. Weather in Krabi is
typically tropical, providing the province with just two seasons,
the hot season from January to April, and the rainy season from
May to December. |

South of Phuket
are a pair of islands known as Koh Phi Phi. Made up of steep cliffs,
and white beaches surrounded by emerald water, they were recently
the scene of the film adaptation of The Beach. From here regular
boat trips take visitors to snorkel amid the many coral reefs. The
area offers idyllic beaches for the perfect escape from the hustle
of modern life.
