SEIN YAY FOREST CAMP
| The
Sein Yay Forest Camp is situated in the Kabuang reserve. It
is 32 kilometres from Oktwin, and has been established especially
for the Eco-Tourists - who would like to observe the world renowned
Burmese teak forest in its natural state. Sein Yay Forest Camp
provides accommodation for up to 100 visitors in comfortable
cabins. The cabins have been built in various unique local architectural
designs. Visitors are treated in the evenings to campfire meals
- and entertainment by local ethnic Kayin villagers. |
 |
Visitors of Sein Yay
Forest Camp are given the opportunity to study the life and culture
of the native forest dwellers, experience elephant rides, as well
as observe elephants
being used in logging operations in lieu of mechanical prime movers.
Elephant logging causes minimal disturbance to the environment and
biological diversity.
Young Ethnic Kayin villagers
may be observed utilising bamboo containers to carry water from
the various streams to the Kayin village of Shwedaung Ngwedaung.
The Kayins
have their own style of living, wearing self-made hand woven clothing.
They are hardworking and honest - and lead a simple life under the
leadership to the village headman.
